Honda X-Blade Discontinued ? Delisted From Official Website

Honda X-Blade

Honda, one of the biggest makers of bikes and scooters in India, has removed the Honda X-Blade from its website. This has made many people wonder if the sporty bike has been discontinued for good. It looks like Honda might have decided to stop making this bike, and this news has surprised a lot of bike lovers.

Honda’s two-wheeler lineup now has two 160cc bikes left—the Honda Unicorn and the Honda SP160. These two bikes share some parts with the X-Blade, like the engine and other features, but each bike was a bit different in terms of power. The X-Blade didn’t perform well in terms of sales, and that could be why Honda decided to remove it from the lineup.

What Made the Honda X-Blade Special?

The Honda X-Blade was a bike that looked very cool. It came in four color choices, including Matte Marvel Blue, Matte Steel Black, Strontium Silver, and Sports Red. The bike had a very modern design, with sharp lines, a futuristic face, and an X-shaped tail light that made it stand out on the road.

Cool Features of the X-Blade

The Honda X-Blade wasn’t just about looks. It also had a lot of useful features:

  • A fully-digital instrument panel that showed the rider important information like speed, fuel level, and more.
  • LED headlamp and tail lamp that made the bike easy to see, even in the dark.
  • An engine start/stop switch, which made it easy to turn the engine on and off.
  • A hazard light switch, to alert other drivers when the bike was in trouble.

Smooth Ride and Sturdy Brakes

For a smooth ride, the Honda X-Blade had twin telescopic forks in the front and a rear monoshock. This made sure that the bike could handle bumps in the road easily. When it came to stopping, the X-Blade used a 276mm petal disc brake at the front with ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and a 130mm drum brake at the back. If buyers wanted, they could also get a rear disc brake.

The bike rolled on 17-inch alloy wheels, and the front wheel had an 80/100 section tyre, while the back had a wider 130/70 tyre. These tyres helped the bike stay balanced and steady on the road.

Powerful Engine and Competitors

The Honda X-Blade was powered by a 163cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This engine made 13.5 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. It had a 5-speed gearbox that made shifting gears smooth and easy.

Even though the X-Blade was powerful, it faced strong competition from other bikes in the market. Some of its competitors were:

  • Yamaha FZ S
  • Suzuki Gixxer
  • TVS Apache RTR 160
  • Bajaj Pulsar N160

These bikes all offered similar features and power, making it tough for the X-Blade to stand out in a crowded market.

Why Was the X-Blade Discontinued?

Honda hasn’t said exactly why the X-Blade was discontinued, but it seems like low sales could be the main reason. While it was a stylish and well-built bike, it didn’t sell as well as Honda hoped. The competition was fierce, and many people may have chosen other bikes that offered similar features.

With the X-Blade gone, Honda still offers two other 160cc bikes—the Unicorn and the SP160. Both of these bikes are popular and continue to sell well in India.

What’s Next for Honda?

Even though the Honda X-Blade is no longer available, Honda continues to focus on its other models, like the Unicorn and the SP160, which are strong options in the 160cc segment. Honda has a history of creating reliable and stylish bikes, and it is likely that they will keep bringing new models to the market that meet the needs of bike lovers in India.

For now, fans of the X-Blade will have to say goodbye to this unique bike. But with Honda’s strong track record, we expect more exciting bikes in the future.
