New Triumph 400cc Motorcycle Teased, Launching On September 17

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 vs. Triumph Speed 400

Triumph is getting ready to add a new motorcycle to its 400cc family. This family already has the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Now, a new bike is coming, and Triumph has teased its launch on September 17, 2024. Last week, Triumph shared a sneak peek of this bike, showing the RS name, which made many fans excited.

What We Know About the New Triumph Bike

The new bike seems to be based on the Speed 400, but with a twist. It will likely sit between the current Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. Triumph’s teaser gave us a small look at this bike. We saw bar-end mirrors and a dual-tone fuel tank painted in red and black. The tank also has Triumph’s logo and a white stripe in the middle.

Design of the New Triumph Motorcycle

Even though Triumph hasn’t shared everything about how the bike looks, we can make some good guesses. The bike is described as another “modern classic”. This tells us that it will likely have a round headlamp, a flat seat that can fit one person comfortably, and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank. These are all things we expect to see on a classic Triumph bike.

Features You Can Expect

Triumph is known for making bikes that have great features, and this one will likely be the same. We expect it to have:

  • A semi-digital display to show speed and other important information
  • A USB charging port so you can charge your phone while riding
  • Ride-by-wire throttle, which makes controlling the bike smoother
  • A traction control system that you can turn on or off
  • LED headlights and taillights for bright, clear visibility at night

How the Bike Will Handle

The new Triumph will likely have the same strong frame as the other 400cc models. This frame will be held up by upside-down front forks and a mono-shock at the back to make the ride smooth. When it comes to braking, the bike will use disc brakes on both wheels, and it will have dual-channel ABS to help the rider stop safely.

Since the bike seems to be more like the Speed 400, we think it will roll on 17-inch alloy wheels.

Powerful Engine Details

Under the seat, the new bike is expected to use the same engine as the Speed 400. This engine is a 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It gives out 39.5 horsepower at 8,000 rpm, and 37.5Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This means the bike will have plenty of power for city rides and highway trips.

The bike will have a 6-speed gearbox to make shifting gears smooth and easy. It will also have a slip and assist clutch, which helps the rider control the bike better. We expect Triumph to offer multiple ride modes, just like they do with the Speed 400.
