Porsche Macan EV first all-electric SUV launched. Porsche decided to release its second generation edition, an electric SUV after the Macan was introduced ten years ago. Maintaining its performance and design ethos, the Macan EV increases range over a longer distance while meeting the needs of Porsche buyers seeking an SUV.
The Macan 4 and Macan Turbo are the two trim levels that Porsche has introduced for the new e-SUV. Starting at Rs 1.65 crore, the Macan Turbo is available in India. Orders can be placed at this time, and deliveries are set to begin in the second half of the year.
Porsche Macan EV’s Design
A measurement of 4,784 mm by 1,938 mm by 1,622 mm is given for the Macan EV. It is 86 mm longer than the previous model, with a base wheelbase of 2,893 mm. It is among the world’s most aerodynamic SUVs thanks to its 0.25 drag coefficient, which maximizes power and range.
The Macan EV shares many of the same features as the internal combustion engine version, but it also has unique four-point daytime running lights that are positioned slightly lower in the front bumper thanks to the split headlight design. Frameless doors and an LED-connected light are still features of it.
Porsche Macan EV’s Interiors
The Macan EV features three screens: a curved 12.6-inch instrument cluster, a 10.9-inch infotainment system, and an optional 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger. The Porsche Driver Experience now includes a head-up display with augmented reality technology and virtual navigation arrows as an optional feature. The infotainment system is based on the Android Automotive Operating System.
The rear luggage space is 540 litres with the bench up. The Macan EV also has an 84-litre frunk luggage compartment under the hood.
Porsche Macan EV’s Platform and Performance
The Macan EV is built on the brand new Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture, which Audi developed for the Q6 e-tron. The DC charging output is up to 270 kW, which can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 21 minutes.
Both Macan models are powered by a 95kWh battery, with dual motors on each axle and all-wheel-drive. The Macan 4 produces 400bhp and 650Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 5.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 kilometers per hour. The Macan Turbo, on the other hand, produces 630 horsepower and 1,130 Nm. The Macan Turbo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and has a top speed of 260 km/h. Macan 4 has a range of 624km whereas the Macan Turbo has a range of 616km.
