All New Ampere Nexus Launched At Starting Price Of Rs. 1.10 lakhs

Ampere Nexus

Ampere, a brand known for its electric two-wheelers, has launched its latest offering, the Ampere Nexus. This premium electric scooter boasts a stylish design, impressive performance, and a range of features that cater to the needs of modern riders.

Striking a Balance Between Style and Functionality

The Ampere Nexus features a conservative design that prioritizes functionality. Flat body panels and minimal creases create a clean and contemporary look. Functional air vents located at the front and rear ensure proper cooling for the scooter’s internal components. Offered in four color options – Zanskar Aqua, Steel Grey, Indian Red, and Lunar White – the Nexus allows riders to express their individual style.

Powerful Performance for City and Highway Riding

The Nexus packs a punch with its new 4kW electric motor, capable of propelling the scooter to a top speed of 93 kilometers per hour in ‘Power’ mode. This makes it suitable for highway cruising, while the City mode’s 63 kilometers per hour limit ensures a comfortable and safe riding experience in urban areas. For enhanced efficiency, an Eco mode restricts the top speed to 42 kilometers per hour, maximizing battery range. Additionally, a Limp Home mode automatically engages when the battery level drops below 20%, allowing riders to reach a charging station safely. A reverse mode provides added convenience for maneuvering in tight spaces.

Long-Range Battery with Advanced Safety Features

The Nexus is equipped with a new 3kWh LFP battery, boasting a certified range of 136 kilometers. This Lithium Iron Phosphate battery offers superior thermal stability, making it ideal for India’s hot climate. Ampere claims that a full charge can be achieved in just over three hours using the included 15A charger. For riders seeking faster charging times, a 25A fast charger is available as an optional purchase.

Ampere prioritizes safety with the Nexus’s IP67 rated battery. This rating signifies that the battery is dust-tight and can withstand water immersion up to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

A Comfortable and Stable Ride

The Nexus is built on a new underbone chassis that provides a stable and comfortable ride. Telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear handle suspension duties, ensuring a smooth ride over uneven surfaces. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels, while braking is handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. A decent 170mm ground clearance allows the Nexus to navigate obstacles and uneven roads with ease.

Tech-Savvy Features for a Connected Ride

The Nexus caters to tech-savvy riders with a variety of features. The top-of-the-line Nexus ST variant boasts a 7-inch touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity. Once paired with a smartphone, riders can access incoming calls, messages, and turn-by-turn navigation directly on the instrument cluster. The display also features music controls and an automatic day/night mode for enhanced visibility.

The base variant, Nexus EX, comes with a slightly smaller 6.2-inch segmented LCD display with limited connectivity features. It lacks navigation, music controls, and the automatic day/night mode for the screen.

Standing Out in the Electric Scooter Market

The Ampere Nexus enters a competitive electric scooter market in India. It faces rivals like the TVS iQube, the Ola S1 range, and the newly launched Ather Rizta. However, the Nexus stands out with its combination of impressive range, powerful performance, a comfortable ride, and a feature-rich instrument cluster.
